This little boy with his Paw Patrol blanket, and the little sleepy open mouth… ughhh! I’m still hovering over him taking a picture as I creep out of the room, just like I did when he was a tiny little thing. We’ve got a somewhat quiet weekend (rainy, too). I’ll take it as life has been chaos lately! What are you guys up to? Any Derby parties??
Some weekend reading…

I get a lot of incredible, sweet, heartfelt emails from you guys and, of those, the majority are people who find themselves in a situation similar to the one I found myself in ten-plus years ago. Your situations are a variation on mine: with an older man, with a man who has children, with a widower, or a divorcee, navigating being a step parent, navigating being with a man who was married to another woman, and usually figuring out all of this with friends and parents who don’t understand, so on and so forth.
Anders loves to set up his characters, cars, little odds and ends here on the table–probably because it is, most often, the clearest space for him to do so. He’ll sit there and act out in total jibberish (to me, but I suspect not to him) what these characters are doing. Eeyore against a dragon in this case. I can’t recall how this particular scene resolved itself. Good luck, Eeyore!
My Mom, my older sister, and I after a barre class (aka ass-kicking). My parents are in town this weekend, and my Mom and I are going away for a night together. I’m excited (but also–first time leaving my Anders!). Then we’re celebrating my Dad’s birthday… he turned 70 in March! What are you up to?
Decided to break up this week’s Canadian tuxedo with a little black and white stripes thrown in.
1// ESSENTIAL OILS: These two essential oil blends are the ones I reach for over and over these days. You can find them both

If you’ve been following along on
Ughhhh… the amount of items in my closet that I hardly touch! The number of items in my closet that haven’t been worn in literal YEARS! That I bought to go with a specific pair of pants that are no longer in style! Blahhhh. I sort of hate the whole process. Here’s my inner dialogue: Have an Instagram sale? Consign at a local store? Donate? But this still has tags on and might be worth something. And this? I haven’t worn it in years. But I really might wear it one day! And then I’ll regret getting rid of it. Round and round I go until I close my closet doors and slowly back away. Does this sound familiar?
Anders gets the most epic bedhead, and Easter morning was no exception. Sometimes when we’re cuddling at night, it tickles my face so much that I can’t really get close. Then I know it’s time for a haircut. Anyway, Easter morning! At our house. We decided not to wake the big kids as getting up at 7 am for a chocolate bunny is really not their speed anymore. So Anders and Parker went it alone…
