hey everybody. happy, happy, happiest of valentine's day to you and yours. today brings something a little different here. a giant giveaway with a million blogger hosts (hostesses?). the first of its kind--on this blog anyway. and while these aren't something i typically do 'round here, a gift card of this size ($1500! contributions from everyone below!) was too awesome a prize to pass up. so, here it is! a giant giveaway for a giant prize.
the winner will be announced on the widget below on february 21st.
and, that person will get the card mailed to them!
(i'm sort of hoping that the winner uses the card to buy a much-needed vacation to some fabulous place. greece! turks + caicos! but, if you need it to buy a couch for your bare living room, or fix your broken down car, i'll understand that too.)

My husband and I are expecting our first sweet baby, so I think I'd do something special for her!

ReplyDeleteI'd buy a shed and a new front door! Woohoo! Haha :)
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I would use the money to go on a trip this summer. My son will be entering Kindergarten in the fall, so it would be fun to do something special for him :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I definitely think I trip somewhere- maybe even withOUT the kiddos!
ReplyDeleteI'd use it to help pay for summer camp for my kids when I'm at work. Womp-womp. Not fun, but as a single parent we don't really get to do big vacays as summers are my busiest times.
ReplyDeleteOh my oh my oh my. Definitely go on vacation. Definitely.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy myself an iPad and the rest for a family vacation to the beach.
ReplyDeleteCAMERA
ReplyDeleteOh, how loveley. I think I might use it to give my mom an awesome 60th birthday bash this year!
ReplyDeleteConsidering that I just had to pay my entire health insurance deductible for surgery on my ankle, I'm thinking...vacation! Spain? Italy? Costa Rica?
ReplyDeleteI SHOULD put it towards my school fees but I WOULD go to Seattle and splurge everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI'd do the most boring thing possible - pay bills. With a 6 month old, paying bills with free money would feel like a vacation.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I would totally use it for one last getaway for me and the husband before he deploys in April.
ReplyDeletevacation definitely! somewhere warm where i can lay on the beach with a margarita!
ReplyDeleteProbably save it to buy groceries (loser answer?)
ReplyDeleteWhoa!!! My husband and I are looking for jobs and trying to move to Seattle, and although moving isn't a vacation, it's still travel! That is what I'd use the money for.
ReplyDeletei'd go out to a super nice dinner, put a little away in our "new car" fund, and the rest would go toward student loans!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the opportunity to win this. I left my answer on Saturated Canary. Hugs, Robin
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic!! I am saving up to buy a house this year, and this could surely come in handy to buy all the things that come along with owning a house!!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend and I are finishing school and graduating very soon! We're trying to save up money to for our wedding and honeymoon- I'd use this to pay for the honeymoon! He is the love of my life & a special trip with him would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be so cool! A vacation is something I could definitely use!
ReplyDeleteDon't want to be boring, but I'm saving up to buy a house, so it would go straight into that fund!
ReplyDeleteI'd use it to come to Boston! My B-I-L and S-I-L and their two cuties live there, and it' so expensive to get my family of four out that way. $1500 would get us all there!
ReplyDeleteMy husband I seeing deployed for a year and leaves in March. I would use the $1500 to take a much need vacation for the two of us!
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely use it for a vacation! I'm having to use my entire tax return for student loans {total bummer} so this would definitely go towards something fun with my boy!
ReplyDeleteOh lord! *my husband is being deployed..
ReplyDeleteTyping on my phone. Sorry
This would be so great for our family! Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd use it for a trip -- but I really do want a new couch (specifically this one from world market http://www.worldmarket.com/product/kendall-ivory-sofa.do?&from=fn)! maybe the rest goes into savings for a world excursion?!
ReplyDeleteI would use it for baby stuff! My husband and I are expecting the end of April, and would love to spoil our little one (and ourselves) with some nice baby things!
ReplyDeleteI would use the money to help pay for my move! And maybe a new outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI would use the money to help pay for my move! And maybe a new outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI would use it towards a vacation with my husband!
ReplyDeleteWould do so many things with that money! Definitely an over-night with the husband sans baby... and then the rest? Probably on the baby! ;)
ReplyDeleteI would probably put some in savings and use the rest for fun stuff like activities with my kids and makeup and clothes. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteGo shopping for Spring! and then pay off grad school debt!
ReplyDeleteUm, I would die. We're planning a summer RV trip with the kiddos to Yellowstone/Glacier National. That would sure help.
ReplyDeleteI would use the money towards my wedding and moving expenses to Africa. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely use it to get out of town!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go on a trip! I need some sun, especially after a blizzard last week!
ReplyDeleteVacation? Shopping spree? Furnishings for the house? The options are endless!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I'm sure I could think of a few things to use it for! :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are expecting a little one in September (yay for successful IVF!), so we would use some of the money to decorate the nursery. The rest would go to a minication since he promised me one. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd either go the practical route and pay off some dumb student loans orrrr go on a kick ass vacation to Austin, TX. Since that would only make a tiny dent in our loans, I vote vacation!
ReplyDeleteI'd go on a ski vacation with my husband!
ReplyDeleteDef towards a vacation and some cute patterned chairs for the family room!
ReplyDeleteIn November I am going to Africa, and I would most definitely use the money to help pay for my trip! That would be a huge blessing!
ReplyDeleteI would love to book a solo a vacation somewhere to either ski or hike (my two ways to de-stress). And perhaps if there is any leftovers, perhaps it could be used updating my worn-out wardrobe. Heaven knows I need to...
ReplyDeleteWith a baby due this summer and no maternity leave offered at work, I'd use this money to spend some extra time at home :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway! I'm expecting a boy in June and would love to win and spoil him!!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to break in my passport!
ReplyDeleteThis would definitely go toward repairs on the house my husband and I are buying this month. It's kind of a wreck.
ReplyDeleteI would use it to fly to Chicago to visit my long distance bf more often than we are currently seeing each other :)
ReplyDeleteA weekend getaway with my family would be wonderful. Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to Europe if I win! ;)
ReplyDeleteA vacation ... or a really big 1st birthday party for my son ... or a much needed new mattress! Practical vs. fun is the question. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteWow! How exciting! A getaway would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...it's a cross between pay off our darn credit card or take a vacation to Seattle, LA, or New York. All places I've always wanted to put my feet up in and soak up for a while...sans kids. Just me and the hubs.
ReplyDeleteMine would DEFINITELY go to a vacation! We've had pretty much only "necessary" expenses since moving back to the States, so some fun money would be incredible. And with my husband's constant traveling for work, it'd be nice to have a stress-free getaway together. I'm dying to go to Prince Edward Island, Canada, so that's my destination of choice!
ReplyDeleteWe just bought a house and we are expecting our second baby--I would use it to get something done in our fixer upper before the baby comes!
ReplyDeleteE. Hughes
numero dos is due in July and we want to spend as much time on the beach as we can this summer maternity leave/vacation this would clinch it!

ReplyDeleteI'd get a DSLR Camera -- been DYING to get one for a looong time!!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty boring, but I would definitely have to use it to pay college tuition. $1500 is about $1 million to a college student!
ReplyDeletevacation for sure! but where to..? too many places to choose from.
ReplyDeleteVacation to FL- absolutely. I did not know what cold was until I moved to MA!! I'm beyond ready to break out Clara's infant bikini!
ReplyDeleteI would go out to eat (my favorite splurge!), maybe go shopping, and buy some furniture for our newly finished basement without feeling guilty! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is insanity! I love it!
ReplyDeleteohhh def use it on painting the house and garage... looks like its about to fall down!
