if i had to go on a double-date with a celebrity couple (twist my arm!) it would be...

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

seriously.  how fun would that be.  we'd just listen to russell make jokes and we'd say, "YOU SOUND LIKE YOU'RE FROM LONDON!" (name the movie) and katy would be like, "shut up and put your money where your mouth is," and steve and i would just be like, "you guys are so much cooler than us."

who would you pick?
who would you soooo not pick?  (for some reason harrison ford and calista flockhart are coming to mind as people i wouldn't pick.  i'm not sure why since harrison ford is like INDIANA JONES but i think he's a little boring these days.  and calista, a little boring too.  sorry guys.)

  1. I would totally want to go on a double date with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart! I think it would be so much fun - I'd drool over Robert's accent and my husband would drool over Kristen's.....well, all of her but whatev! Lol! And I wouldn't go on a date with Brad and Angelina because Angelina would make me feel so insecure and stupid. She just seems so "together" and smart. Haha!

  3. I think Mark and I would have fun talking with Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso. They are so motivated to improve the world around them, it would be incredible to hear thei goals and hopes and dreams...and then realize that they have the political capital to make a great deal of it come to action! Way too cheesy?

  4. p.s. I am with alaythea on no Brad and Angelina - even though they also strive to make a difference - their life seems way too chaotic for me to handle. I picture kids running around and things being thrown on a double date with them!

  5. prob steve and bridget hunt. so hot right now.

  6. @tucker, I GRANT YOU YOUR WISH.

@shannon, ooh, i kinda love matt damon. good call. and i like that she's not famous. makes me feel like "hey! i'm important too!"

    hahahaha.

  7. I wouldnt want to go with Demi and Ashton! maybe Adam Sandler and his wife. We would probably laugh the whole time.

  8. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Power couple.

I'd also settle for Amy and Will Arnett. I mean, come ON. J.O.B. and Leslie Knope???

  9. well i guess i'd first have to have a significant other. but since this is all imagination.

i would put a broken up couple back together and go on a double date with rachel mcadams and ryan gosling.

  10. Forgetting Sarah Marshall!!!!!Most hilarious movie ever.

  11. Hmmm ... I think Ellen and Portia would be good fun as a double date couple ...

and yes definitely no to Ange and Brad they would make me feel small and inferior, and I would probably leave a date with them wanting to donate my entire life savings to charity ...

  12. I wouldn't be able to be in the presence of Russell Brand without quoting Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Excuse me miss, I've lost a shoe. It's like this one, but its fellow...

  13. I would have to say William and Kate. They love to have a good time; I would tell them how much I enjoyed the pomp and circumstance at their wedding; we could do charity work on our double date and they would definitely up my cool factor a notch or two. Another couple I wouldn't mind hanging with would be Oprah and Stedman. The conversation would be interesting all night long, I'm sure. As for who I'd turn down for a date... I think topping my list would be Kim Kardashian and whoever she is with right now. I know so little about her, but have no interest in someone who is so self-centered. That's a major turn off. I think you and Steve would make a great double date, BTW. You seem very down-to-earth, but have a great sense of humor, style, you're both educated and we could meet for good food and probably talk for hours. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your big family from me and mine. I enjoyed playing along with this post. :)

  14. This is tough. I'm going to go with Gweneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. We could just soak up all of Gweneth's beauty and I could get some sweet fashion tips from her and maybe Chris could sing to us?? We're on a first name basis with them...nbd. It would be even more fun if Beyonce and Jay-Z joined us. I would love to hear what they talk about.
And I would for sure turn down Brangelina. I think they would just be too cool for us and look all pouty the whole time.

  15. well-first of all, I would find myself a date. Then...
agree- with you-no to Calista. But no to Russel Brand.
I am thinking Kate Winslet an Ned Rocknroll. or- Zara Philips and Mike tindell. or...Chandler and Monica from friends!!!

  16. @flora, i am replaying that in my head "but it's fellow.." or "i wanna be inside you.. insiiiide you." hilarious.

poor brangelina! they're really getting dissed here!

@jenni, gwyneth and chris. that's a good one.

@jody, oprah and stedman, yes! and steve and i would gladly take you up on that double date.

  17. @elissa, yes to the ryan gosling and rachel mcadams pick. good one.

  18. Good call on Harrison Ford and Calista, I bet they would be boring.

I'd want to hang with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. She seems nice and down to earth and he is from Boston, so I already love him for that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. how about reese witherspoon and jim toth. they seems so sweet together.
oh or what about josh duhamel and fergie...heard they will be in minot (that's where i live) for thanksgiving again. maybe i will bump into them at the grocery store and just ask them if they are up for a double date!

    ReplyDelete
  20. @nessa, oooh. reese. yes. and i'd ask her to give me all her hair tips. girlfriend's got great hair.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would have said Ashton and Demi (so I could creep on Ashton), but they are no more. Sad (not really).

Russel and Katie is a great pick. He makes me snort laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Haha! Russell and Katy Perry would be hilarious! I don't know celebrity couples anymore but I do know Brad and Angelina. I would be her just because of Brad.

    ReplyDelete
  23. OH my goodness I love them too! I would also want to go on a double date with selena and justin!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner because they're in the area so often and Ben is a fellow BRO from BAHSTON.

  26. the neely's!!!!! they are hysterical. love them! also wouldn't mind hangin with the obamas. i would def talk fashion with michelle =)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Are John Krasinski and Emily Blunt still together? They seem super cool and good for a laugh. Plus they're not mega-stars so I feel like I wouldn't be as intimidated.
Agreed no Brangelina... but if we could time travel back when he was with Jennifer Aniston? Absolutely.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Darn Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard calling it quits...I so would have chosen them! I guess then I would have to pick Oprah & Stedman because...well, honestly, Oprah ALWAYS gives gifts...maybe she would give me a free car!! "And you get a car, and you, and you!!"

I wouldn't like to go on a double date with Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart, mostly because I may end up punching Kristen in the face and drooling over Rob. Let's just say my husband would not approve. =)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Forgetting Sarah Marshall.... Oh man, I knew I loved you and your blog for a reason! haha

I would totally have wanted to double-date with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward! We could all just hang out and be goofy and laugh. I feel like their love for one another would just be so amazing to be around!

On the flipside, I would sooooo not want to hang out with Justin Beiber and Selena Gomez. I mean, Selena seems sweet enough, but I'd probably end up bitchslapping the Beibs (then have to run for my life from all the tweens out to get the girl who slapped their boy toy).

    ReplyDelete
  30. ohh, I don't know that you can get any better than Russell and Katy.

    good call, B Hunt.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @laurenjeanallace, i'd probably stare awkwardly at paul newman's good looks the entire time and end up making the whole thing weird.

@liv szari, and you! and you! we're going to australiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  32. Probably a couple that has been married for a substantial amount of time. Will and Jada? Tim and Faith? Tom and Rita? One of those:)

    ReplyDelete
  33. is it weird that i just want to go on a date with russell by myself? i have a weird, unexplainable crush on the dude. probably because he's always played "the asshole" in movies and i tend to think i should date "the asshole." why do we do that to ourselves?!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would probably pick Khloe and Lamar...is that totally lame haha? And I would never go on a date with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes because to me, he is so incredibly annoying. Good movies, annoying man.

    ReplyDelete
  35. carrie underwood and her husband (whatever his name is). I have told my husband numerous times that i think we'd be bff if we ever met. he just rolls his eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oprah and Stedman hands down. Oprah and I would laugh and cry together while Bryant and Stedman can talk boring man talk together.
Then I hope Gale would join us for dessert and we would all just laugh the rest of the evening, especially if Gale and Oprah are in their funny, make fun of one another mood.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @sarah hull, seriously... gale and oprah. what could be better. did you watch them camping togehter in yosemite? so funny. i love how oprah was playing up the lesbian rumors the two of them get when they were getting in the camper together. they're great.

@lace, ooh yeah. i loved them in her mama's song video.

  38. I think Katy Perry and Russell Brand would be so, fun, but I think I'd also like to go on a double date with Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale.

Definitely a no to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, I feel ya on Calista and Harrison, and I'd definitely say no to, I'm not sure if you'd really call them "celebs" but Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison would be the absolute worst.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Um....LOVE this question! I'd totally pick Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. I'm obsessed with them! They're adorable and so in love with each other. And maybe he has a brother.... :)

  40. Oprah and Stedman is a great call! I'm not sure I'd really mind as long as it wasn't Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. He really bugs me...but Oprah like him...so maybe I wouldn't want to be out with her either. Oh now my mind is really scrambled.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Elton and David Furnish - that would be a hoot!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Okay, I'm gonna have to go with Katie and Tom. Because, dammit, I want to know if they're really crazy like people say, and I want to meet that little biatch, Suri.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Haha! I LOVE this post! I did my own like it. Dont worry, I referenced you! :) http://gavinandlauren.blogspot.com/2011/11/double-date-night-make-believe.html

  44. Amy Poehler and Will Anette. I'd probably pee my pants.

    ReplyDelete
  45. AAAHHHHH! YES. Yes. I met them once and it was one of the best moments of my life. I'm not kidding. They were so nice and seemed so head over heels in love with each other. Like, completely smitten.

They were also super sexy. And tall. And hilarious. And then I fainted.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Forgetting Sarah Marshall!!! My fave. Also- I totally agree. I have had a crush on Russel Brand ever since I saw that movie. Have you read his books? Not half bad. Love and miss you.

    ReplyDelete
  47. good call. russell brand is hilarious.

now i have to go rent that movie...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hmm, I'd have to choose Ellen and her wife Portia. I just think they'd be a very interesting couple with a lot of great things to talk about!

    ReplyDelete
  49. AMY POEHLER AND WILL ARNETT!! they're my two favorites and i'm so happy they're married. i would just quote blades of glory the entire time, probably.
