Why does painting with white walls scare me so (and have me so intrigued)? It looks so dang good everytime I see it! Like here for instance... and that striped rug! And those candlesticks! Color looks so great when backed with white. Which is precisely how I feel about food. Food never looks better then when it's on a white plate. But, I gotta say, I don't carry that philosophy into my home. We've got a lot of color happenin' here. My next house? WHITE. White, I tell you! Anyway, enjoy.

I need my white walls back so bad! :(
ReplyDeleteWhite is so fresh. 80% of the walls in our house are white, but I still think they need to be painted. I'll reconsider per your suggestion.
ReplyDeleteOff to go pin some white spaces.
My mom has a white kitchen and growing up with a white kitchen wasn't fun at all... Ever since I've avoided white since dealing with cleaning it is such a pain, but these pictures are definitely inspiring! I imagine any room but a kitchen would be lovely in white and oh-so-easy to maintain!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration =)

Agreed. Love your choices. Now I shall go eat my breakfast off my white plate and think of you.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I love pictures of white homes with splashes of color... but in practice, well, it's scary! I do have white dishes though, which I love. Maybe that was the first baby step...
ReplyDeleteI love white! Makes everything so clean and fresh looking.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! BUT. I am pretty sure I'd have a hard time keeping it sparkly and fresh. Babies, you know?
ReplyDeleteYour house looks amazing! Haha, I am going to show this to my boyfriend. We are going to paint soon and I want our bedroom white :)
ReplyDeletei love these white walls, but i also love the little snipets i've seen of your colorful house. i think color makes houses feel so cozy.
ReplyDeleteI have white walls everywhere... the great thing about them is that you can see where the dirt is to wipe it off. Oh, and that said I do have 5 boys. I love the way that coloured accessories always stand on their own. Lovely post! :)
ReplyDeleteoh i'm scared of white! on my walls and on my body! haha! but these ideas look lovely. it really does make the colorful accessories pop.
ReplyDeleteit's true. white walls are beautiful. but i'm so scared of kids drawing on them with markers or stains from cooking. but then again, i'm still not married and i don't cook very many saucey foods. maybe in my next apartment i'll go white!
ReplyDeleteOhh I love the white, but I'm the same way, all of my walls are colored. This leaves me longing for white all over again. It just looks so clean and wonderful, especially with the right accessories.
ReplyDeletehere's my thought...White room + no natural light = just bland. I mean, I wish they'd do more night pictures - I feel like all my house envy photos are shot at high noon. K& I are into white...couch, walls, dog, we work it in when we can. I feel like I'm going to have to do a total overhaul on the house when we sell it...it's the anti-moutain lodge home of CO.
ReplyDeletei love white dishes!!! i also love a white comforter with colorful sheets :)
ReplyDeleteLovely! The older I get, with each kid, the more simplicity I seek in our living space. Now, I would like to know when you'll be revealing Hunt Hunt's nursery. Or, have you already done that and I missed it?
ReplyDeleteisn't it funny how colored walls were so "it" 5-10 years ago.
ReplyDeletei love the white too. it's clean. simple. fresh.
mix it up. the solution is so simple, if you have some white walls with that fresh clean vibe then you need to mix it up by having some sultry walls in deep, rich colors. Do the kitchen and entry in bright white and your bedroom, a deep and vibrant color. Sexy.....
ReplyDeleteWhite gives such a fresh/clean feeling. I love it! Those pictures are awesome with those fun splashes of color mixed in.
ReplyDeletep.s. I made the pasta and blogged about it here http://ahulllotoffun.blogspot.com/2011/07/summer-cookin.html
Thanks for the tips!
my respect for an interior decorator (professional, or a stay-at-home momma like myself;) goes WAY UP when i see them work magic with white walls. it's clean, fresh, and makes other decor pop. great photos :)
ReplyDeleteI love the all-white pictures they have online, but I don't think I'd be able to handle it in my own home! Reason #1: I hate cleaning, and they'd probably all turn brown. Reason #2: I have a hairy husband. Although an all-white bedroom would be dreamy, the black hairs all over the sheets would NOT be so pretty! Reason #3: Cat hair. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteI love fresh white spaces- the splashes of colour make it home-y too :)
ReplyDeleteThe thought of white walls used to appal me, but now they are so appealing (and scary at the same time--how will I fill them?) for now I am settling for white accessories:)
ReplyDeletethat's an awesome house! I love that blanket with the crosses on it :)
