A showering for my babe and I.

Thursday, May 19, 2011

First things first: proper cuddle time with me and my Quinn.  Actually, it's her Quinn, but he is most definitely my sweet little buddy (and he likes chillaxin' with his finger in my necklace so that gets me some points).  Then came my shower.  This was thrown by my NJ-based sisters and Mom (I get another up here thrown by my local sister--sah-weeet!).  It was a brunch to the nines.  Apple fennel sausage, hashbrowns, zucchini and goat cheese frittatas, artichoke and ham stratas, buttermilk cheddar biscuits, parfaits, fruit kebabs, a bloody mary station, champagne cocktails, coffee cakes, apple cakes, lemon curds, chocolate cappucino muffins (all made by them!)... oh my.  It was a pregnant girl's dream.  I can't thank them enough for showering me so brilliantly.  You guys are the best.  I felt pretty darn special.

  1. Your dress is way fab! Is it even maternity?? I think I was able to get away with wearing a lot of non-maternity stuff until just a couple of months before the babe was born. I get the impression you might be the same way. :)

  14. I'm going to be the one that comments on how fab your boobs look. Mine are still pretty much the same size. What the what?

Funny lemon curd story. There was a woman with a crush on Mike who made him special order her a case of lemon curd. So now whenever old bitches (his age?) flirt with him, I do a rendition: "Miiiiiiike, would you order me a case of lemon cuuuurd?"

    He hates it.

  26. Oh, Bridget, what a special and memorable day! You're glowing from delight because of so much love...and GREAT food.

I meant to comment this every week you write to your babe but don't get to it because one of my kids does something to divert my attention and makes me forget even my name. Anyway, I find it so sweet how you write to him. No fancy big words, just a sweet note from mommy. I would have loved to have that from my mom. Such a small act and such a huge treasure. I just might have to copy you next time I'm pregnant :-)
