i'm heading upstairs last night after being out all day. steve's sitting on the couch downstairs. he yells up, "there might be something for the baby in our room!" i'm expecting there'll be some cute onesie or a little pair of booties sitting there amongst our bedspread and pillows. but no. there is a little tikes basketball hoop in the corner of our room. "kids love these!" he says.
i'm sure they do, steve, i'm sure they do.
(for the record, it was sweet and i am grateful.
i was just expecting something he could use before the age of four... ohhh husband).
i'm here today too if you want to hear about how legit-crazy i am.

HAHA! Steve.
ReplyDeleteHe's acting like a brand new dad...I love that!
Haha, cute! When I was pregnant Jared sanded the wall in our Phin's room and made a built in chalkboard...at his height. He was super bummed when I pointed out our child wouldn't be able to reach it until he was at least 10.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Husbands.

ReplyDeleteWe've had plastic swords in our possession since our first year of marriage...knowing that we were waiting a few years to get pregnant. Drew got one out the other day to show it to me again and dream about the day when he can have battles with our unborn child.

ReplyDeletetrust me, he'll use it before he's 4! i found one last year when my son was a little over a year and he was all about it...even though he wasn't walking yet! boys and sports...sigh
ReplyDeleteI made him move it before the babe was born, but Phinny just wants to eat crayons/chalk at this point. I keep trying to tell him that blizzard blue and hot magenta don't go on trees but the kid won't listen.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh...i have not laughed that hard in a few days. thank you. =D
ReplyDeleteHa! Well, at least the kid will now have more motivation to learn how to walk, jump, and get better hand eye coordination.

I'm glad to see that you're already acquiring equipment that will lend to playdate entertainment . . . especially seeing as how we've about reached our max on space with one child. Looking forward to seeing our boys play a little 1-on-1 ;-)
