my photography site.

i'm the type to keep working on things and perfecting them and changing this and changing that and never feeling like it's complete and then, you know what, that never ends.  i've been sort of doing photography, sort of making some money, sort of working on it while never really taking the plunge and declaring it so for over a year.  today that ends.  hurrah!  i worked on my website all day yesterday (sorry children + husband!  i sorely neglected everyone.) and i feel like i'm ready to share it.  or at least, i want to.  still a work in progress but, i feel like i'm getting there.  so, check it out.  there's definitely going to be some repeat pictures, if you've been reading my blog for any length of time but i'll do my best to keep the photography bit over there and the personal bit over here.  i'll keep updating it, adding pictures, changing pictures, etc.  may add a blog section too.

thanks to my friend ashley for my gorgeous logo.  if you need any graphic design work, she's amazing.

and finally, if you like my facebook page, or are in the boston/new england area and feel like sharing it with your friends, i'll be forever grateful.

xoxo.  you're the best.

  10. I think it's great to turn your creative passions into a career! I've been thinking so much about this same thing lately...I LIKE my job but am so envious of people who make their careers taking photographs, making candles, making soap, refurbishing furniture, baking, etc...I LOVE doing these things but it takes a big leap of faith to turn it into a livelihood. Way to go!

    1. i know -- i think the biggest hurdle is just saying, "i'm gonna do it" and not being afraid to fail? i don't know... there are a lot of hurdles along the way but that was one of my bigger ones! there's always more experience, more knowledge, more this, more that... everyone's gotta start somewhere! good luck kate!

  13. Wow, great work. I really love the natural light in your pictures. I will have to book a session next time we come to Boston. Our wedding photographer bailed at our wedding and I always wanted to have those pictures. I will bring my wedding dress and maybe we can find some cool spot to finally have wedding pics!

    1. That is, quite possibly, the saddest thing I've ever heard. You need wedding pictures ASAP, even if they are recreated.

    2. WHAT? they just bailed?!

      YES. we will take pictures.

    3. oh man, that is crazy that they just bailed?! NOT COOL

    4. He got lost coming to the church and there were back to back weddings so we couldn't wait for him. The groom was also really sick with food poisoning so we just had to make the show go on. So my cousins took a million pictures of me walking down the aisle. An hour later, when the wedding finished, the photographer showed up and was promptly fired. Family and friends all took the rest of the pictures, and I chose a few to frame but always wanted real shots. We love Boston so next time we are in town, I will book Bridget.

  14. Congrats on the new adventure. Your site looks great and I just wanted to say it was super easy to navigate on my phone, which is kind of a big deal for me. I spend more time on my phone than a computer these days and I hate when I can't see what I want from my phone. So, awesome job in that department. My best wishes to you as you pursue your dreams!

I checkd your website and its cool...I donno much abt photography but I so loved the expressions you have captured on some of the pics
I know you are still building the site, and so it's ok for me to say, even if you knew it: the prev and next buttons are not working.

  22. Cheers, Bridget! This is big, slammin', beautiful news! Would that I still had friends in Boston (alas, they moved to Michigan) to recommend you to -- I would do so heartily! I enjoy all of your photographs, but your photos of people have a particularly magnetic quality. There are plenty of blogs featuring photos of wonderful, sweet families and friends -- but there's something about your skillz behind the lenz that make your photographs stand out to me. I'm not a photographer myself; I'm on the writing side, so photography/images isn't even something I tend to notice -- but with you, I do.
I'm very happy for you, and happy for the people who will get to reap the benefits of your photographic magic too! Hurrah!

  27. Bridget, you know I'm a fan of everything that you create within this space of yours, and to see you striking out and saying "I will be not afraid" is even better than a warm ginger cookie right off the baking sheet. I'm about to take the plunge and start a photography business myself (right after the wedding when I can have my life back *17 days, 17 days 17 days*) and seeing you push your website live has me fist pumping for you all the way down here in Florida.
