so, being a stay at home mom can sometimes be... hum drum?  same old same old?  i mean, i love our walks to feed the horses.  but, i'm no saint -- being home day after day, just me and parker, can be boring.  (GASP!)  sure, we get out.  walks into town, playgrounds, mall (i've become one of those mall-walkers!), playgroups and classes.  but, some of the time, we're just hanging here.  so we need to make our own fun.  well, i've recently started watching this video.  and, i love it.  parker sort of watches too and mimics me while i attempt to dance all sasha fierce in my computer room (and after this video he's always ready to nurse.  weird?  BEYONCE'S BOOBS.).

what i'm saying is: beyonce, it'd make this stay-at-home mom's dream to be in your next video.  i can do these moves.  single ladies' moves?  not a chance.  so keep it simple for your next vid and have me in it.

thanks!

(ps. this post was kind of pathetic, no?)

  1. Not pathetic - I think a lot of us can relate. I mean seriously - a girl's gotta be ready; Beyonce may need a back up dancer and just happen to be filming in ___________ (insert your city/town/village name here). Let her down? NEVER.

  2. I can relate to a lot of that. I'm not a stay-at-home Mom, I'm a Nanny, but I have a lot of those issues as you do. Especially since it's been too cold lately, and dark way too soon, to go to the playground a lot. So most of the time we're inside, and it's tough to think of different things to do.

  3. What would it be like to be able to dance like Beyonce?

Also, how do her boobs not fall out of those blazers? No, really. Do you think they use double-stick tape or something?

  4. @desertgirl, NEVER.

@page, wondering the same thing. really. major double stick tape usage.

  6. Absolutely not pathetic! THANK YOU for introducing this video to me. I love it.

Now to repeat it while I'm at work all day... (awkward to dance in my cube?)

  11. No way.

Plus I have been obsessed with this song since she performed it at the MTV movie awards and announced her pregnancy at the end by popping open the blazer and rubbing her belly! Love it!

My kids are currently into the Glee version of "Let's Have a Kiki" and performing all the moves (look it up, it is fabulous).

  14. I'm a little embarrassed to admit how often my daughter requests to watch "Firework" and "Never ever getting back together" on youtube (She's 20 months). I don't mind Firework, but I'm not a Taylor Swift fan. Why isn't she asking to watch "Thriller" or "Let it Be"? She's a pop music junkie.

  15. LOVE IT. Also, I was wondering how her boobs stayed in place...

Also, it kind of reminds me of an early 90's music video...in a good way.

  17. Hahaha. Bridge, you are awesome! This is one of my faves to dance to, too. If we actually lived close to each other I'd definitely come over and dance in your computer room with you.

  18. If I had a body like Beyonce's, all I would ever wear is those damn leotards.

also, her curly hair is FIERCE. I want.

  19. mall walking. I should do that with the toddler I nanny. It doesn't sound half bad (especially this time of year). This dance, on the other hand, I cannot do. It's pretty awesome that you do it, though.
